Mental Health Awareness Month 🧠
- Host mindfulness and meditation sessions for employees to reduce stress and promote mental well-being.
- Organize walks or outdoor activities to encourage physical exercise and fresh air, which can positively impact mental health. This will be most impactful if done during working hours so employees can still have a chance to disconnect and have personal time during their lunch hour.
Asian American Month 🗓️

- Organize a panel discussion or workshop to educate employees about Asian American history, traditions, and contributions to society.
Nurses Week (May 6 through 12) 🩺
- Hold a breakfast or luncheon to honor nurses in the workplace, expressing gratitude for their dedication and hard work.
- Arrange a “thank you” card station where employees can write notes of appreciation to nurses, which can be displayed or distributed during Nurses Week.
National Police Week (May 12 through 18) 👮
- Organize a law enforcement appreciation event with activities like a barbecue, games, or a ceremony to honor police officers.
- Invite local police officers to give a talk on safety tips or conduct a Q&A session to foster positive interactions between law enforcement and employees.
Emergency Medical Services Week (May 19 through 25) 🚑
- Host a CPR or first aid training session for employees to learn life-saving skills and show appreciation for EMS professionals.
- Create care packages with snacks, drinks, and handwritten notes of thanks to deliver to local EMS stations or hospitals.
Star Wars Day (May 4) 🛸
- Host a Star Wars-themed costume contest or trivia quiz for employees to showcase their fandom.
- Screen a Star Wars movie during lunchtime or organize a virtual watch party for remote teams.
Cinco de Mayo (May 5) 🇲🇽
- Host a festive Cinco de Mayo celebration with Mexican-themed food, music, and decorations.
- Offer a salsa or guacamole-making contest where employees can showcase their culinary skills and creativity.
National Teacher’s Day (May 7) 📚
- Encourage employees to share stories or memories about their favorite teachers and mentors.
- Provide resources for employees to donate school supplies or volunteer at local schools to support teachers and students.
Mother’s Day (May 12) 🌹
- Offer flexible scheduling or work-from-home options for employees to spend quality time with their mothers or mother figures.
- Provide small gifts or flowers as a token of appreciation for employees who are mothers.
International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (May 17) 🏳️🌈
- Host a panel discussion or workshop on LGBTQ+ inclusivity and allyship in the workplace.
- Organize a fundraiser or donation drive to support LGBTQ+ organizations or causes in the community.
